Bartender

We're looking for an experienced, energetic bartender to join the Lost Colony team!

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Ability to serve guests with a genuine smile, adjust on the fly, and always execute at the highest standards of excellence.

In this position, you'll be required to:

• Greet guests that arrive at the bar or bar areas in a prompt and welcoming fashion, serving each and every guest with a friendly and helpful demeanor
• Take orders promptly and accurately
• Have complete knowledge of our bar products and ingredients, with ability to explain our products to guests
• Ability to prepare all drinks unassisted in a timely and accurate fashion
• Know the food menus well as well, including how to best serve guests' dietary restrictions and accurately answering all food preparation questions
• Transmits orders to kitchen, identifying all special dietary needs and special requests
• Protects establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
• Maintains bar area table settings by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to spills or other guest needs
• Concludes dining experience by acknowledging the guests, thanking them, and inviting them back
• Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules as required, including weekends and some holidays

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Age: Must be at least 18 years of age based upon state requirements to serve alcohol
• Service Experience: Minimum one year experience as a bartender required
• Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED
• Familiarity with industry best practices

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES

• Communication: The ability to write and speak effectively and clearly, actively listen to others, ask questions to verify understanding, and always do so with a smile and helpful attitude
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and guests
  • Basic math skill proficiency
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required
• Professional maturity: The ability to separate emotional feelings from the real issues at hand, meet commitments, keep the promises you make, and accept the responsibility of your actions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to stand for extended durations (8-12 hour shifts)
• Ability to constantly lift up to 50 pounds without issue
• Ability to work in an environment that has exposures to cold, heat, and water
• Able to lift, reach, bend and stoop
• Able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
